VITA volunteer schedule selection

Thank you for volunteering with VITA for 2025. Below you will select your role and schedule for the upcoming tax season. 

Locations, days and times for our weekly in-person, traditional sites are:

Workforce Solutions - 1717 Taylor Ave.

  • Mondays 1-7pm

Racine Public Library - 75 7th St.

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month 10am-2pm (4th Tuesday 4-7pm)
  • Thursdays 2-7pm (2-4pm reserved as a Spanish service site)

Burlington Public Library - 166 E. Jefferson St

  • Tuesdays noon-3pm

RUSD Community Pathways Campus - 2333 Northwestern Ave

  • Wednesdays 1-7pm

George Bray YMCA Branch - 924 Center St.

  • Fridays 9am-noon

Case High School - 7345 Washington Ave.

  • Saturdays 9am-1pm

 

When selecting your schedule, you may choose as little or as many shifts as you would like to cover weekly. We keep our schedule consistent from week to week to allow us to book appointments in advance. If you know you will need days off during tax season, you can list them in the scheduling form. 

 

Please keep in mind that the following volunteer teams will have a separate schedule for you to sign up for. The days and times that volunteers will be needed vary from week to week. The virtual VITA team and Homestead team will receive additional training and resources to ensure your success. If you would only like to participate on a team and not at a weekly site, leave the site selection blank and select the team(s) that you would like to participate in.

- Virtual VITA team (Requires secure password-protected internet and a laptop or computer. Additional screens available for volunteers to borrow for tax season if needed)

- Travel Homestead team (Primarily serving Racine)

- FSA team (Primarily serving Racine)

- Drop-off team (Serving Racine and Burlington)

It is your responsibility to complete certification before you are able to work with clients. Certification should be obtained by 1/23/25 and your volunteer agreement (form 13615) that is obtained through Link and Learn should be electronically signed and emailed to Lori Riffer or Aeshea Moreno.
By checking this box, you confirm that you understand that this role requires additional site coordinator training and certification through the IRS. Information and training options will be provided seperately through your program director. It is your responsibility to complete certification before you are able to oversee a site. Certification should be obtained by 1/23/25 and your volunteer agreement (form 13615) that is obtained through Link and Learn should be electronically signed and emailed to Lori Riffer or Aeshea Moreno.
By checking this box, you confirm that you understand that this role requires Volunteer Standards of Conduct and Intake/Interview and Quality Review certification through the IRS. This role does not require tax law certification. Information and training options are given during your virtual orientation. It is your responsibility to complete certification before you are able to work with clients. Certification should be obtained by 1/23/25 and your volunteer agreement (form 13615) that is obtained through Link and Learn should be electronically signed and emailed to Lori Riffer or Aeshea Moreno.
Please select the weekly shifts that you would like to be scheduled. Your weekly schedule will run from 1/27/25-4/12/25.
You may select as little or as many shifts as you would like but remember that this will be your weekly schedule. Appointments are booked in advance and they are dependant on the number of volunteers at each site.

These optional opportunities can be selected in addition to your weekly site shifts or or on their own. You are able to select more than one. For these seperate teams, volunteers will recieve a separate schedule to select availablility.
