United Way of Racine County President and CEO Ali Haigh departing

Chief Operating Officer Jessica Safransky Schacht will lead organization through transition

Oct. 15, 2026 (Racine, WI) — United Way of Racine County President and CEO Ali Haigh has announced she will leave the organization effective Oct. 30, 2026, following 15 years of service to the organization, including seven years as its president and CEO.

The United Way of Racine County board of directors has appointed Chief Operating Officer Jessica Safransky Schacht as interim president and CEO following Haigh’s departure.

“Ali’s leadership and dedication have made a lasting difference for United Way of Racine County and the community we serve,” said Laura Million, UWRC board chair. “We are grateful for her years of service and the care she has brought to this work. We have confidence in Jessica and our talented team to continue building on this foundation and advancing United Way’s mission during this transition.”

As UWRC’s first female president and CEO, Haigh helped guide the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic, navigated government funding uncertainty alongside impact partners, stewarded transformative opportunities such as the MacKenzie Scott gift, and helped shape and implement the organization’s current strategic plan. She also led efforts to modernize internal processes and contributed to the broader United Way network through service on the state board and National Advisory Council.

Haigh reflected on the relationships and shared purpose that shaped her years with UWRC.

“Serving United Way of Racine County has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my life. These years have shaped me, strengthened my connection to this community, and reinforced my belief in what we can accomplish when we come together to care for one another,” Haigh said. “I’m deeply grateful to our team, volunteers, donors and partners for their trust, friendship and shared commitment to this work. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of something that has given so much to me, both personally and professionally.”
