Sept. 8, 2023 (Racine, WI) — To help combat transportation barriers to employment, United Way of Racine County, RYDE Racine and the City of Racine will be hosting a job fair on Wednesday, Sept. 13 that will feature businesses and organizations located on or near the RYDE Racine bus routes.
The job fair will take place between 4-7 p.m. at the Corinne Reid Owens Transit Center, 1409 State St., Racine. A free light dinner will be provided while supplies last, and activities will be available for school-aged children to allow adults to network. RYDE Racine will also have a table at the event to show attendees how to get a bus pass and ride the bus.
“We know that transportation barriers can make it extremely difficult to find work,” said United Way of Racine County Special Projects Manager Katie Tuttle. “Racine is lucky to have a great public transportation system, and we want to highlight the many employment opportunities that are available for those who ride the city buses.”
Transit and Mobility Director for the City of Racine Trevor Jung echoed public transportation’s role in connecting workers to jobs.
“RYDE Racine is proud to be an engine for economic growth by connecting residents to family-supporting careers,” Jung said. “There are many opportunities along our routes to find employment, and we are excited to highlight those opportunities at the job fair.”
Registration is not required for this event and registrants are welcome to attend any time between 4-7 p.m.
