Welcome to Supporter Spotlight, where we highlight some of United Way of Racine County's supporters on our website, in our monthly Handraiser email and on social channels.
Lavelle Industries: Helping Racine County children learn to read
For generations, Lavelle Industries has been committed to strengthening Racine County through community leadership and meaningful local investment. One of the ways they make a lasting impact is through their support of United Way of Racine County’s Imagination Library program.
Imagination Library helps provide free, high-quality books each month to children from birth to age five, building early literacy skills and fostering a lifelong love of reading. Lavelle Industries’ support helps ensure more local children have access to books in their homes and the opportunity to start kindergarten ready to learn.
By investing in early childhood education, Lavelle Industries is helping create brighter futures for families across Racine County. We are grateful for their partnership and their commitment to helping children and communities thrive.
“At Lavelle Industries, we believe in giving back to the communities where our employees and their families live and work,” said Rhonda Sullivan, CEO of Lavelle Industries. “We are proud to support Imagination Library, ensuring children have access to books that inspire learning and creativity, and to support the United Way-funded programs that strengthen the well-being of families in Western Racine County.”
Erin and Rod Parsons: Commitment to community
Erin Parsons and Rod Parsons have made a tremendous impact through their leadership and dedication to United Way of Racine County’s community investment process and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Since joining UWRC’s volunteer advisory teams, both Erin and Rod have stepped into leadership roles that help guide thoughtful funding decisions for programs serving our community. Rod has served as chair and co-chair within Financial Stability teams since 2021, while Erin has brought strong leadership and collaboration to the Health Volunteer Advisory Team since 2022. Rod has been a tax preparer, student support specialist at the Case High School site and quality reviewer for VITA since 2021.
Their commitment to their community through multiple volunteer opportunities has made a great impact on Racine County. They also bring warmth, positivity, and a true spirit of service to every conversation.
We are deeply grateful for Erin and Rod’s partnership and dedication to strengthening Racine County. We know that they will continue their work as they transition to living in the Madison area.
BeLEAF Survivors: Making Racine County safer
We are proud to spotlight BeLEAF Survivors, a longtime partner of United Way of Racine County, during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. BeLEAF is dedicated to supporting survivors and building safer communities.
BeLEAF Survivors works to empower individuals impacted by sexual violence through advocacy, support services, education, and healing-centered programming. Their work creates safe spaces where survivors feel seen, heard, and supported on their path forward.
Through years of partnership with UWRC, BeLEAF Survivors has helped strengthen access to critical services while raising awareness about prevention, healing, and community responsibility.
During Sexual Assault Awareness Month and throughout the year, we are grateful for their leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to survivors across Racine County.
